Does the past exist if no one remembers it? How can it be proven? Debate this point after reviewing O'Brien's argument.
Of course the past exists even if no one remembers it. History is history, you can't go bakc and change everything or prevent anything to happen. Its not like everything is run like a movie, where you can pause rewind and cut somee pieces that you don't care too much for. Its just the same as saying oh well i don't remember what i had for breakfast the other day, guess it didn't happen. Or I don't remember the day we went to war, so the troops are not there and its all peaceful. No it doesn't work that way. Just because you don't remember everything detail by detail doesn't mean it doesn't exist or never happened.
